AceShowbiz - Reconciliation is on its way for the father-daughter. Angelina Jolie has, in an interview with the U.K.'s Evening Standard newspaper, revealed her willingness to reconcile with her much-estranged father, actor Jon Voight.

"I am hoping my relationship with my father will be more private in the future," Jolie told the newspaper. "At the end of the day we both wish the best for each other and we'll try to start communicating in some way."

Jolie has been long estranged from her father, claimed him to have cheated on her late mother, French actress Marcheline Bertrand, thus blaming him for the break-up of the family. In August 2002, a month after Jolie dropped Voight as her surname, Voight claimed on Access Hollywood that his daughter had "serious emotional problems".

Since then on the father-daughter became estranged to one another and Jolie once indicated that she no longer wished to pursue a relationship with her father. And as time goes by, the movie beauty seems to have changed her mind and be a wiser person.

In further interview with the newspaper, Jolie also revealed on her partner Brad Pitt's parents' acceptance toward her and their kids, and her thinner figure. Read more details of the interview here.
