Kylie Minogue will not only be the recipient of this year's Music Industry Trusts' Award but she will also be the first woman to ever receive the prestigious award. The award honors her for the 20 years successful involvement in the music industry.
Minogue who will be handed the honorary on October 29 in London said, "As well as being a fantastic evening, this award ceremony also raises much needed funds for The Brit Trust and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, and it is a pleasure for me to be involved."
Upon landing the choice on Kylie, Music Industry Trusts chairman Dave Munns explained, "Kylie deserves this award for her success over 20 years, staying at the top in one of the toughest professions and inspiring millions with her grace, dignity and humanity. The Trust also felt Kylie has a unique place in this country's heart and an appeal that seems to grow ever wide."
The annual award recognizes contributions made by influential people in music industry. Previous winners include Peter Gabriel, Elton John, and composer John Barry.
During her 20-year music career, Kylie has dropped nine studio albums all of which have achieved at least Gold status.
