Bon Jovi guitarist has entered a treatment center, it has been confirmed.
Richie Sambora is hitting the low key of his life as he's checked into rehab facility to treat a currently unknown substance abuse problem.
Sambora, guitarist for the renowned music act Bon Jovi, entered an undisclosed treatment facility on Wednesday June 6th, his representative confirmed, saying "Richie Sambora has entered an undisclosed treatment facility in Los Angeles. He asks that you respect he and his family's privacy at this time."
Is his entering rehab have something to do with his tough year? Sambora recently split from longtime girlfriend Denise Richards after dating her for a bout a year following his divorce from ex-wife, actress Heather Locklear. Details on the nature of Sambora's problem were being kept under wrap though.
To make it worse for the guitarist, in the same month that he split from Richards, Sambora's father died of lung cancer. "Richie has had a terrible year," a close friend of him tells People while goes on saying, "I think this was a culmination of all these things and finally he realized he needed to take care of himself. He'd put off everything for so long taking care of everyone else it was just time to stop and deal with his issues."
