The 2007 MTV Movie Awards Winners Named

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" was chosen as Best Movie with its star Johnny Depp being bestowed the Best Performance trophy.

AceShowbiz - Summer sure is still a great period to celebrate an award event and for young generation of moviegoers, it's undoubtedly the time to once again get to know who and what come out as the best at MTV Movie Awards this year, held Sunday, June 3 at Universal City's Gibson Amphitheatre.

Taking the spotlight during the ceremony was Walt Disney Pictures' "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" which not only got deemed Best Movie, but also won its lead star Johnny Depp the Best Performance honor. However, the big winner turned out to be Sacha Baron Cohen as the British actor triumphantly swept two golden popcorns in Best Comedic Performance for "Borat" and Best Kiss for "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby", the latter being shared with fellow funnyman Will Ferrell.

Elsewhere, veteran thespian Jack Nicholson took home Best Villain title for his role in "The Departed" with Mike Myers receiving the MTV Generation Award for his amazing contribution to Hollywood and entertaining the MTV audience for years. Added to the winning list were Gerard Butler and Jaden Smith, who snatched prize in Best Fight category for "300" and that in Breakthrough Performance for "The Pursuit of Happyness", respectively.

Other winners included the upcoming sci-fi action "Transformers" as the Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet, Josh Greenbaum as the recipient of mtvU Best Filmmaker on Campus Award through his "Border Patrol", and "United 300", made by Andy Signore from Ambler, Pennsylvania, as the Best Movie Spoof.
