Avril Lavigne, Her First Canadian Show for "The Best Damn Thing"

Avril Lavigne along with other notable artists such as Fergie and Maroon 5 will perform in Canadian MuchMusic Awards this year.

Adding the anticipation of this year's MuchMusic Video Awards are Avril Lavigne, Hilary Duff, Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie, and Maroon 5. These four musicians are just among many to perform in the June 17th night.

The Canadian award event will have four stages set atop the landmark of Much headquarters. "We've pulled out all the stops to deliver the hottest acts out there," said Sheila Sullivan, Director of Programming. "With four stages, fans won't know where to look next."

Besides performing, Fergie and Avril are listed in the nomination for the category People's Choice as well. Stacy is running for the Favorite International artist while the Canadian native Avril is one of the contenders in the local category.

Avril's performance in this event will be her first Canadian performance since releasing "The Best Damn Thing" on April 17 in both U.S. and Canada. The album's first single "Girlfriend" is reported to be remixed by rapper Lil' Mama. Avril said. "I heard about it and thought it would be great to work together, because I think she's really talented. We're all really excited about it." In response mama said, "I submitted the remix 'cause I was feeling her song. She had other offers but decided to go with me, so I feel blessed that I'm the one she wanted to work with."
