Actor Ewan McGregor returns to the London stage later this year, as Shakespearean villain Iago in Othello.
Ewan McGregor is in it for the art. The actor, who usually earns millions by making movies, has agreed to return to the London stage later this year, playing Shakespeare's arch villain Iago in ''Othello."
The "Star Wars" star reportedly will earn a mere $790 a week, which is the standard minimum wages for an actor in Britain. The Scottish star will appear opposite Chiwetel Ejiofor starring as Othello and Kelly Reilly as Desdemona.
McGregor was recruited for the role by Donmar Warehouse artistic director Michael Grandage, who worked with the actor on the musical ''Guys and Dolls.'' The production marks Grandage's fifth anniversary as the acclaimed theater's artistic director.
"Othello" opens on December 4th later this year up to December 23, 2008.
