AceShowbiz - Paris Hilton changes her mind quickly. The 26-year-old has rehired longtime publicist Elliot Mintz, days after she dumped him over the weekend, blaming him for her 45-day sentence.

Mintz confirmed to The Associated Press on Tuesday May 8th that he is again representing the socialite, yet wouldn't elaborate on why they reunited. Meanwhile, Paris has also had her lawyers taking the first step to appeal her jail sentence while also has urged fans to sign a petition to pardon her "mistake."

The hotel heiress urged fans to join her in a desperate plea to California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to keep her out of jail, writing on her MySpace website, "My friend Joshua started this petition, please help and sihn (sic) it. i LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!"

Further the petition reads, "Paris Whitney Hilton is an American celebrity and socialite. She is an heiress to a share of the Hilton Hotel fortune, as well as to the real estate fortune of her father Richard Hilton. She provides hope for young people all over the US and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives."

"We, the American public who support Paris, are shocked, dismayed and appalled by how Paris has been the person to be used as an example that Drunk Driving is wrong. This petition is to ask Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon Paris Hilton for her mistake. Please allow her to her return to her career and life."

A message left with Schwarzenegger's press office regarding the petition wasn't immediately returned.
