Words are abuzz that Sacha Baron Cohen is in talks to play Freddie Mercury in a musical biopic, but his publicist has said it to be 'absolutely untrue.'
It has been some time since Johnny Depp was said to be offered chance to portray Freddie Mercury in a biopic of this late frontman of Queen's and now words have it that Sacha Baron Cohen is up for the role instead and even is in the stage of negotiations with the project's filmmakers.
British tabloid daily newspaper Daily Mirror has claimed to have received info from an unidentified source that the "Borat" star is being tipped for the part, saying the actor "loves the idea he can get away with playing Freddie after modeling Borat's look on him."
However, seems the tidbit just remains as merely a rumor as Cohen's publicist quickly responded by telling MTV News that the reports are 'absolutely untrue.'
"Pure hokum," so the person remarked.
