Lou Reed Revives "Berlin"

Unacceptable in 1973, Lou Reed reprises the album "Berlin" in 2007 in consideration that this is the right time.

After made recognized for his glam rock image through his first commercial and widely acceptable album "Transformer" (1972), Lou Reed came up the next year all darker and bleak with album "Berlin". Many did not accept this album due to the issues brought in the tracks such as drug addiction, suicide, prostitution and domestic abuse. Thus, this album was considered a failure, but Reed thought otherwise.

Reed considered that those issues were not suitable and in line with the songs that were in demand at that time. Keeping this low for more than 30 years, Reed finally thinks this is the right time to re-introduce "Berlin".

The revival of "Berlin" will take place across Europe this summer. He will bring with him an ensemble of 30 piece live band, a string and horn section as well as a children's choir. The venues include Italy, Belgium, England, France and also Berlin, Germany. For a complete information on the tour log on to loureed.org.
