Halle Berry is reported to have nabbed a lead role in based-on-true-account flick "Who Is Doris Payne?."
Set to exhibit her charisma onscreen, Halle Berry has come onboard to be the female lead in a film feature based on the true story of a woman who spent 75 years, at large, stealing precious stone entitled "Who Is Doris Payne?", Moviehole.net has claimed.
Dubbed the "Grandmother Thief", Payne's traits were well known to the police who got amazed at how easily she could distract shop assistants and simply walk away with her loot. In bringing her story to the big screen, seasoned TV writer Eunetta T.Boone has been assigned to pen the screenplay with Justin Berfield serving as one of the producers.
"She was a jewel thief for six decades and worked all over the world," so Berfield remarked recently. "I aim to tell her story the way it is. It will explore claims she has a mental disorder but I hope to leave it up to the audience to decide whether Doris is a hero or a villain. There's no way she shouldn't be punished but it is important to state Doris never physically hurt anybody."
