Making a comeback to film industry after her last big screen appearance in "Nutty Professor II: The Klumps", Janet Jackson has taken a starring role in dramedy "Why Did I Get Married?" for Lionsgate Films, Variety has revealed.
Rounding out with Sharon Leal and Jill Scott in the cast, the singer will come under the direction of Tyler Perry who is also on duty to pen the script as well as to star in and produce the flick. Production is said to begin March 5 this year in Whistler, British Columbia and Vancouver before shifting to Atlanta.
The fourth movie in Perry's lucrative franchise, "Married" is adapted from his own stage play of the same title which centers on a couple who hook up with friends every winter to examine their marriages in a group setting. Problem arises when one of the wives brings along a sexy young temptress who later provokes trouble among the couples.
