Keith Urban has filed a lawsuit against a painter of the same name, claiming that the lesser known Keith Urban's Web site infringes trademark and cyber-squatting laws.

AceShowbiz - Keith Urban Vs Keith Urban. Don't get confused. The one you know as the Aussie country music singer Keith Urban, the hubby of actress Nicole Kidman, is not gonna fight himself. The recording artist, instead, sues US painter of the same name over a Web site.
The famous Keith filed a lawsuit against Keith D. Urban, claiming his Web site violates federal trademark laws. In his suit, filed Friday Feb 2nd in US District Court in Nashville, Tennessee, the famous Keith claimed Keith is using his keithurban.com domain in a deceptive manner and for commercial purposes.
The Web site includes the statement, "You have reached the site of Keith Urban. To those who don't know, oil painting is one of my hobbies." It then directs viewers to a gallery of paintings and offers a limited edition of prints for sale and is selling merchandise as if it were produced or endorsed by him, thus misleading people into believing the Web site belongs to the famous singer.
The high-profile plaintiff is seeking that ownership of the domain name keithurban.com be transferred over to him and has asked for unspecified damages and a permanent injunction forbidding Urban-the-artist from using keithurban.com or any Web site utilizing that name or suggesting a connection with the singer to sell or publicize his paintings.
Maybe the candles Nicole bought Keith for the Valentine's could help cooling down his nerves. I hope so.
