The Weinstein Company has landed deals to distribute Plum Pictures' "Dedication" worldwide together with First Look Studios.

AceShowbiz - Making a follow-up to its acquisition on "Teeth" and "Grace Is Gone", The Weinstein Company (TWC) has joined forces with First Look Studios to successfully get one more Sundance Film Fest's participant, a romantic comedy feature entitled "Dedication", to be distributed under its banner.

Originally a production of Plum Pictures, the flick will see TWC and First Look partner on the worldwide release of the film both for domestic and international market with the former taking the lead on the U.S theatrical campaign on behalf of the two companies. Announcing the move were TWC co-chairman Harvey Weinstein, First Look Studios CEO Henry Winterstern, also Plum Pictures partners Celine Rattray, Galt Niederhoffer and Daniela Taplin Lundberg.

A feature directorial debut of "Inland Empire" star Justin Theroux, "Dedication" presents a love story in which a misanthropic, emotionally complex author of a hit children's book series is forced to team up with a beautiful illustrator after his best friend and creative collaborator passes away. Billy Crudup, Mandy Moore, Dianne Weist, Bob Balaban, and Tom Wilkinson are all starring.

In related news, TWC has also carried out the same treatment to Patricia Riggen-directed picture "Under the Same Moon (La Misma Luna)", only this time the studio is holding the joint acquisitions agreements with Fox Searchlight Pictures. Also secured the deal at Sundance Fest, the two will share equally in this Spanish-language film's worldwide revenues.

"Patricia Riggen has crafted an incredibly emotional and moving tale," Fox Searchlight president Peter Rice commented. "We are extremely excited to be sharing this touching film with the world."
