Writer-director Rawson Marshall Thurber is reported by Teletext UK to have cast his choice on Matthew McConaughey and three other Hollywood stars to take part in "Magnum P.I."
Sure it has been a while since moviegoers last heard about the development of "Magnum P.I." and now here comes an interesting tidbit on the movie dealing with the cast list.
According to Teletext UK, the writer and director for the flick, Rawson Marshall Thurber, has enlisted Matthew McConaughey as his top choice to play the title character with Steve Zahn, William H. Macy, and Tyrese Gibson rounding out the supporting cast to play Rick, T.C., and Higgins, respectively.
No official statement yet from the Universal Pictures, the studio that produces the picture, concerning this mater, but if the names later are proven to come out as the project's stars, the film subsequently will mark the reunion of McConaughey, Zahn, and Macy after their onscreen collaboration in "Sahara."
In addition, Teletext UK also informed that Thurber has already finished his latest draft for "Magnum" and picked summer 2008 to release the feature. The movie itself is an adaptation of popular 1980s TV series of the same name which followed the adventures of a suave Hawaiian detective named Thomas Magnum.
