The Rolling Stones have topped the list of the Biggest-Grossing North American tours of 2006.
Notwithstanding with the time changing, The Rolling Stones remains great. The Rock 'n' Roll band has topped the list of the Biggest-Grossing North American Tours of 2006, selling 138.5 million dollars worth of tickets for their 'A Bigger Bang' shows.
The tour, which includes 39 shows across the United States and Canada, is the third-highest on Pollstar's all-time list, behind the Stones' 2005 tour ($US162 million), and Irish rock band U2's trek that same year ($US138.9 million). Back on the 2006 list, behind the rockers is Barbra Streisand who's taking in $US92.5 million for just 20 shows.
Country music's married couple, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are the 3rd on the list with $88.8 million earned, just one place ahead of pop star Madonna who is at the 4th spot with a 2006 total gross of $85.9 million. Wrapping up the fifth position is Cirque Du Soleil's blockbuster Delirium Tour, which grosses 82.1 million dollars for 156 shows.
Celine Dion is on the 6th place on the list, with ticket sales worth 78.1 million dollars at an average cost of 135 dollars per ticket. Other stars named in the list are Elton John at number 10, Billy Joel at number 11, The Who at number 13, Aerosmith and Motley Crue at number 18 and Crosby, Stills & Nash at number 20.
