Nelly Furtado exploring music with her third language, Spanish. The singer has revealed to MTV that she is currently writing and recording a song in Spanish.
"I'm in the midst of recording a Latin album," Furtado revealed to MTV. "It's like, 'Wow, I'm writing a song in Spanish.' It's really bizarre, but really great."
Further Nelly revealed, "I feel like a little kid again, because it's a whole new language. And I can't translate poetically yet. But Latin languages come easy to me. When I sing in them, it feels natural. It feels organic. I love rapping in Spanish, I love singing in Spanish. It just feels so good."
On the new album, Furtado plans to include all of her previous Spanish songs, translations of some of her older tracks, a few original new songs and perhaps a cover. Asked to detail on the Spanish set, she said "Right away, I was tentative. You don't want it to come off as a commercial attempt to gain a new audience. You don't want it to be fake."
