Winners Announced at the 2006 WAFCA Awards

Giving more buzz to the award season, Washington, DC Area Film Critics Association has picked up a number of notable names and titles to be deemed the winners of its 2006 WAFCA Awards.

Like the New York Film Critics Circle, the group cast its favor on 9/11-drama "" for Best Film title while taking the same picks as the New York Film Critics Online in selecting "", "", and "" as Best Documentary, Best Foreign Film, and Best Animated Feature, respectively.

Furthermore, it also gave the Best Actor award to for his role in "" and Best Actress prize to of "" along with handing two honors of Best Breakthrough Performance and Best Supporting Actress to "" star .

Best Ensemble category was snatched by "" which also won that of Best Screenplay, Original while Best Screenplay, Adapted prize went to "" with Sofia Coppola's "" surprisingly scoring one winning in Best Art Direction category.
