Maggie Gyllenhaal won the best actress award for her performance in "Sherrybaby" at the 17th annual Stockholm International Film Festival this weekend.
American actress Maggie Gyllenhaal was named Best Actress for her performance in the drama flick "Sherrybaby" at the 17th annual Stockholm Film Festival held Sunday Nov 26.
"Sherrybaby," directed by Laurie Collyer, follows a young woman's struggle to resume her life and reconnect with her young daughter after a three-year prison term for a crime she committed as a 19-year-old heroin addict, also picked up the Bronze Horse award for best movie at the Swedish event.
In the meantime, the Best Actor award went to Ryan Gosling for his role in "Half Nelson," while the Audience Award was taken by American road comedy "Little Miss Sunshine." Check out the entire enlisting of the winners at http://www.filmfestivalen.se.
