Brandon Routh has confirmed that he will return as the red-caped superhero in the 2009 sequel to "Superman Returns."

Seemingly enjoying his role as the titular superhero in "Superman Returns", Brandon Routh has revealed to E! Online yesterday, November 16, that he will once again team up with director Bryan Singer to work on the flick sequel set to be released sometime in 2009.

"I'm certainly excited to do another one," he remarked. I don't think we'll start for awhile since we have a 2009 release, but I'm excited about the potential."

Routh, a native of Des Moines, Iowa, initially worked as a model before finally taking decision to establish an acting career which he persistently developed through a number of TV series before landed the coveted role of the red caped-superhero at age 25.
