Nicole Richie has slammed reports she had a gastric band fitted but had to have it removed after losing too much weight.
Nicole Richie has no gastric surgery. At least that's what she says.
The super tiny celeb denies recent rumors pointing her as the subject of New York Post's article, published on Monday November 13th, claiming "a Hollywood starlet" underwent gastric bypass surgery and then, after slimming down too much, had it reversed.
Spoke up via her MySpace page the next day November 16th, Nicole wrote "It's pathetic of Page Six to insinuate I have done this. Anyone that knows anything about this surgery would know that, legally, you must be at least 100 pounds overweight to even have the surgery done, and is a serious, life-changing procedure, not one to throw around as a joke or rumor."
Further Nicole continued writing, "I've given a statement I am in the process of putting on weight, and that should be enough." Elsewhere, a representative for her called the idea that the newspaper was talking about Nicole "ridiculous." "It is not Nicole," the rep told People. "There are a ton of 'Hollywood starlets.'"
