"The Departed" star Leonardo DiCaprio has ascended 19 notches to take over the top position of AceShowbiz's Top 100 Celebrity Buzz from Johnny Depp.
Apparently, it's still hard indeed to shake off the male domination on AceShowbiz Celebrity Buzz so far as the list's top spot honor once again goes to another Hollywood actor, who, not very surprisingly, turns out to be Leonardo DiCaprio.
Follows the footsteps of previous chart-toppers like Brandon Routh, Channing Tatum, and Johnny Depp, the striking guy's success to claim the rank surely cannot be separated from the hype surrounding his latest vehicle "The Departed" which sees him stunningly portray a cop working as a mole inside a mob syndicate.
Nabbing the runner-up position, here comes young talent Zac Efron followed by the beautiful Vanessa Hudgens on number three, both riding high from their enjoyable performances in Disney Channel's "High School Musical." Pop/R&B sensation Justin Timberlake shows up next on the fourth slot with such a loud bang for he tremendously went up 79 notches after falling heavily last month to #83, thanks to the huge success of his new album "FutureSex/LoveSounds."
Rounding out the big five of the chart is Channing Tatum who stumbles a bit from his last-month position. Same thing also happens to Johnny Depp, Shakira, and Chris Brown as they all have to go down slightly to fill in the sixth, seventh, and eighth rank respectively. On the other hand, rapper Omarion delightfully manages to climb up 10 steps to firmly take the ninth place with Clay Aiken popping up out of nowhere to claim the tenth, no doubt getting boost from their latest works: the former with single "Ice Box" and the latter with new album "A Thousand Different Ways."
As a newcomer on the lineup, Aiken sure is not alone since there are other 17 well-known names making their entry on the list, notably that of Nicole Richie who has received wide publication due to her difficulty in gaining back her ideal weight. What should be noticed is that most of these new entries gravely take seats below the 70th rank, like Aaron Carter, Ashlee Simpson, and George Clooney to name few.
Another that ought to be paid attention is certainly none other than top movers/shakers for this October 2006 edition. Apart from Timberlake, the likes of Bow Wow, Black Eyed Peas, Sara Evans, and Sandra Bullock have experienced significant leap this time with all being placed in the top 50 of the list. Five other names, however, have to suffer great fall from their previous positions with Danity Kane becoming the worst, dropping 74 levels from 22nd to 96th rank.
