Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that "National Treasure 2" will begin filming process in January 2007.

AceShowbiz - Going one step further, "National Treasure 2" is in the brink to enter the production process. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has revealed to MTV that the flick is getting underway to "start filming in January" with core cast members like Nicolas Cage and Diane Kruger set to reprise their roles.

Still in the same occasion, the man also gave tidbits about the script of the second installment of the franchise, saying that it will be "another little treasure hunt" which "involves [Abe] Lincoln and John Wilkes Booth and 18 pages which are actually missing from [Lincoln's] diary."

A sequel to the 2004 hit "National Treasure", the project has already had Jon Turteltaub at helm and Gregory Poirier to pen the script. It is expected to come to theaters in Thanksgiving 2007.
