The Weinstein Company has earned the rights to Martin Sweeney's spec script "Muskrat Love" to develop it into film feature.
Set to generate more laughs from the moviegoers, The Weinstein Company is about to come up with a comedy project titled "Muskrat Love" based on Martin Sweeney's spec script of which rights it has successfully optioned.
An irreverent comedic feature, the picture presents a story of a self-absorbed player who dumps the perfect woman only to find himself shockingly getting injected with a monogamy serum by the woman's vengeful best friend.
In the meantime, "She's the Man" helmer Andy Fickman has been tapped to direct the picture with David Higgins, Patricia Jones, Trevor Engelson, and Nick Osborne seating as producers. Details on the cast and production schedule have not yet been revealed.
In related news, it is also reported that Weinstein Co. is intending to develop psychological thriller "13", a remake of Thai flick of the same title following its successful attempt to pick up the movie's remake rights and all North American rights.
