Author/filmmaker Clive Barker will revamp and rewrite his popular work of "Hellraiser" for The Weinstein Company.
Clive Barker is ready to give fresh treatment on "Hellraiser." Yes, the English-born American-resident author/filmmaker is about to revamp and rewrite this very own work of his for The Weinstein Company, which will join forces with Dimension Films to produce the remake.
Revealing the tidbit on his official website, Revelations, Barker openly expressed his response concerning this matter. "I'm excited about it - actually it'll be kinda cool to revisit it once and see if there are things we can do to it which will make it significantly better," so he stated as posted on the site.
Though admitted that he was invited to make the reconstruction by Bob Weinstein, Barker has firmly said that he will only work on the script and has no intention to direct the flick as he previously did in 1987.
"I wouldn't want to revisit something that I did as a director, something that I did all those years ago: that would be too, in a way, painful - not painful but weird, difficult, strange...," he added.
