Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino joins the stellar cast of "Reservation Road."

AceShowbiz - One more superb talent is heading toward "Reservation Road." The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino has given her nod to take a starring role in the project, which is one of the pictures being developed under Focus Features.

Joining the likes Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Ruffalo, and Jennifer Connelly, Sorvino is billed to play the ex-wife of Ruffalo's character. The movie itself presents a story about two families who collide when the father of one kills the son of the other in a hit-and-run.

Adapted from John Burnham Schwartz's novel of the same title, "Road" will be directed by "Hotel Rwanda" helmer Terry George who is also attached to work on the script alongside Schwartz. Meanwhile, A. Kitman Ho and Nick Wechsler are both serving as producers.

Sorvino, the daughter of veteran Italian-American actor Paul Sorvino, is a 1989 graduate of Harvard University and initially started her acting career through small screen features. She is last seen on the big screen playing opposite Robin Williams and James Caviezel in Omar Naim's sci-fi thriller "The Final Cut."
