Madonna has been awarded a Guinness world record - for being the Highest-Paid Female Performer.

AceShowbiz - Pop diva Madonna is doing better than Britney Spears in case of music. The singer has been awarded a Guinness World Record for being the Highest Paid Female Singer on the planet, steps into the shoes of Spears who's been on the top spot, taking in an estimated $50 million (�26.6million) in 2004.

Spears had managed to hold on to the record since 2001, when she entered the Guinness World Records for earning $38.5million (�20.5 million) in 2000. Numbers of people included in the Guinness World Records 2007 book, include the likes of James Blunt, Arctic Monkeys, and Simon Cowell among others.

As of Blunt, the singer nabs the award for the Most Albums Sold in A Year in the UK with 2,368,000 copies in 2005. Elsewhere, Arctic Monkeys has the Fastest Selling UK Debut Album with "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I Am Not" selling 363,735 copies in its first week and 113,000 on its first day.

Simon Cowell, additionally, is the Highest Paid TV Talent Show Judge, earning �18 million. The star-studded 2007 version of the Guinness World Records book, goes on sale on Friday, also listed Brad Pitt as one of the award recipient for the Most Wanted Man on Internet Search Engine Google in 2005. Oscar winning actress Nicole Kidman is another award holdover, holding the record for the Most Money Paid Per Minute to An Actor after she earned a reported $3.71 million for a four-minute commercial for Chanel No.5 perfume.
