SAG to Honor Julie Andrews for Lifetime Achievement

Julie Andrews will be honored with a Life Achievement Award at the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony in January next year.


The Screen Actors Guild announced Monday September 25th it will honor veteran actress Julie Andrews its Life Achievement Award. The star is scheduled to receive the honor at the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony, held January next year.

On the actress, best known as the star of the 1965's "The Sound of Music", SAG President Alan Rosenberg commented "Julie Andrews is a woman of great generosity, creativity, courage, elegance and wit. She embodies and transcends the memorable roles she has created. Julie has been a positive presence in my life and continues to inspire multiple generations. I believe it is exceptionally significant to be recognized by people who do the same work you do."

As of the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, the event is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007.
