A good move has been made by Strand Releasing. The company has satisfyingly obtained the rights to this year's Sundance Film Festival participant "The Hawk Is Dying." In continuation to the successful attempt, Strand has set the movie to be released by the next spring, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.
Written and directed by "Trans" helmer Julian Goldberger, "Hawk" features a star studded cast consisting of Paul Giamatti, Michelle Williams, and Michael Pitt with Corbin Day also Ted Hope serving as executive producers.
Made based on Harry Crews' novel of the same title, the dramatic feature centers on a Florida auto upholsterer (Giamatti) who attempts to subvert his mundane life by taming a wild hawk. During the time, he lives with an autistic nephew (Pitt) and overweight sister while getting involved with a girlfriend (Williams) who might be involved in the death of one of the characters.
