President Bush intends to appoint Clay Aiken to the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.

AceShowbiz - The White House publicly announced Wednesday September 6th that President Bush intends to appoint Clay Aiken to the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.

The American Idol runner up once worked as a YMCA counselor before having his singing career took off.

The committee advises the president and the head of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on issues relating to programs and services for people with intellectual disabilities, according to the committee's web site.

While decision on the matter has yet been made official, Aiken's singing career keeps going on and he is about to have his new album, "A Thousand Different Ways," marries the street later this month.
