Jolie and Brad Pitt's baby has made what may be her first fashion statement, appearing on the cover of People magazine in a $42 T-shirt sold by a Denver boutique, triggering a tidal waveof orders.
Three-week-old baby daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt has become a trendsetter early on even before she could stand on her own feet.
Appearing on the cover of People magazine, the baby wore a vintage-washed grey cotton T-shirt with the words "The Pots & Pans Band", causing the $42 shirt to immediately fly off store shelves.
Belly, a shop in Denver's tony Cherry Creek district, sent Jolie one of the T-shirts and some maternity clothes in January. And after the magazine hit newsstands last week, soon thereafter baby boutiques and high-end retailers including Barney's New York, Fred Segal and Bloomingdale's were inundated with telephone calls and Internet orders.
The shirt worn by Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt says "The Pots & Pans Band" in Gothic letters and features a skull and crossbones, an eagle and some pots and pans. The shirt's designer, Kingsley Aarons, claims he was stunned by the response saying, "It just hit me how big a deal this is." Also he adds, "Brad and Angelina are definitely our customers. The new generation of young, hip parents are looking for outfits they would wear themselves."
