Plans to launch a range of sexy dolls based on the Pussycat Dolls have been scrapped
- May 26, 2006
AceShowbiz - There won't be dolls for The Pussycat Dolls as plans to launch plastic miniatures of the six-girl group were scrapped by American parenting groups which at last prompted toymaker Hasbro to shelve the potentially lucrative product.
The protests to stop the toys hitting stores reportedly started Monday May 22nd, 2006 and by Wednesday morning the manufacturing company had received around 2 000 letters and emails of complaint.
Speaking on that matter Josh Golin, from the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, said "Parents were instantly upset about it. They are scantily clad. Their lyrics are sexual."
