Watts Will Be Working with the UN to Combat AIDS

Like Angelina Jolie, Naomi Watts will be working with the United Nations to combat a global problem: AIDS


Following the footstep of fellow actresses, like Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman who both actively involve in world's social matter, Hollywood beauty Naomi Watts plunges herself into such world, working with the United Nations to combat a global problem: AIDS.

Watts, who on Monday May 15th, 2006 was tapped as a United Nations special envoy on HIV/AIDS, said "I only hope that, as a UNAIDS Special Representative, I can do my small part to raise AIDS awareness and to encourage greater international support for the vital work being done on the ground".

Elsewhere, the United Nations said Watts' UNAIDS role would entail using "her talent and profile to raise AIDS awareness and give greater voice to the needs of people living with HIV worldwide."
