Dave Rowntree, the drummer for English rock group Blur, has another activity beyond music. Coincide with his band's unclear future plans, the man gives hand at designing animated comedy show.
Rowntree reportedly is working exclusively behind the scenes for the so-called "Empire Square", guiding the "creative process" and helping direct the voice talent who power the three main characters: the attitudinally maladjusted "Richie," the streetwise "Hooks" and the geek, "Rabbit."
"Empire Square" is slated for premiere April 18 on music video channel Fuse. Rowntree, co-created the project with two other London-based collaborators, remarked "When we first started out with this, it was a completely different idea. We liked the idea of making a kids TV show but the more we went down that path, the more it seemed a waste of time. There's so many restrictions. People get really protective."
