Shohreh Aghdashloo is joining the cast of New Line Cinema's "Nativity" as St. Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist

AceShowbiz - Shohreh Aghdashloo, a native actress of Iran, is in final negotiations to join Keisha Castle-Hughes to star in the upcoming "Nativity". While Keisha has agreed to play the role of Virgin Mary, Aghdashloo reportedly will play St. Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist.

Gives hand at producing is Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen, with Catherine Hardwicke is directing Mike Rich's script.

The story covers the two-year period of Mary and Joseph's life, culminating in their leaving Nazareth and journeying 100 miles to Bethlehem for the birth of Jesus. The story's aimed at fleshing out key characters such as King Herod; John the Baptist's parents, Zachariah and Elizabeth; the shepherds who were witness to Jesus' birth; and the arrival of the three kings from the Orient.
