Dimension Films has completed a deal to turn the ABC series Welcome Back, Kotter into a feature film, with Ice Cube producing & playing the title role
Dimension Films has acquired the rights to the ABC series "Welcome Back, Kotter" which ran from 1975 to 1979. And hence the studio will soon turn the project into a feature film and has also set Ice Cube to produce and star in as well.
In the meantime, Tom Brady also has agreed to write the script and direct. With Matt Alvarez and Andrew Lazar give hand at producing alongside Cube, the drama flick is expected to start shooting in the fall.
As of the story, "Welcome Back, Kotter" tells about a teacher who returns to his tough, inner-city alma mater, where he meets a new generation of underprivileged troublemakers who are as unmotivated as he used to be.
