David Cronenberg will next direct "Maps to the Stars," a Bruce Wagner-scripted darkly comic drama about Hollywood excess and intrigue

Scored success with his latest work, "A History of Violence," David Cronenberg will take "Maps to the Stars" as his next project to direct.

Robert Lantos will both produce and finance through Serendipity Point Films. Filming on the first movie the Canadian will shoot on U.S. soil reportedly will begin in the fall.
