Kaiser Chiefs and James Blunt led the field with five nominations apiece when the shortlist was announced on Tuesday for the Brit Awards
Kaiser Chiefs and James Blunt are leading the nominations at next month's Brit Awards with five nods each. As of Blunt he's up for British Male Solo Artist, Pop Act, British Breakthrough Act, British Album for "Back To Bedlam" and Best Single for "You're Beautiful."
Meanwhile, Kaiser Chiefs are nominated for British Group, British Rock Act, British Live Act, British Breakthrough Act and British Album for "Employment." Following close behind is Coldplay with four nods, including British Group and British Live Act, thanks to the huge success of their album "X&Y."
In the meantime, Franz Ferdinand and KT Tunstall, superstar Madonna and Canadian newcomers Arcade Fire have all received three nods each. Securing double nominations among others are Oasis, Gorillaz, Kate Bush, Kanye West, John Legend, Green Day, U2 and Kelly Clarkson.
To note, the music bash will take place in London's Earl Court venue on February 15 and will be hosted by Chris Evans. Former The Jam singer Paul Weller will also be honored with a Lifetime Achievement prize at the awards.
