Coldplay Tops U.S. Album Charts

Coldplay topped the U.S. pop album charts for a third consecutive week Wednesday, with "X&Y" sold almost 186,500 copies in the week ended June 26

In the week ended June 26, Nielsen SoundScan noted 's "X&Y" sold almost 186,500 copies, taking its total to 1.3 million. Such attainment certainly helps Coldplay to hold up its position on top of the U.S. album charts for a third consecutive week Wednesday. With no newcomers, 's "The Emancipation of Mimi" bounces two places to No. 2, with 132,000 copies making its total into 2.2 million since its April 12 release.

At No. 3 is ' "In Your Honor" which with 116,000 copies falls one place from its previous week position. As the ' "Monkey Business" ups to No. 4 with 103,000 copies, 's self-titled debut is at No. 5. 's "Way It Is" sold nearly 89,000 copies at No.6, while "Never Gone" of positioned at No.7 with 79,000 copies in its second week. In companion with them all, enters the Billboard 200 at No. 8 with its first "Greatest Hits" set. The last two reigning the Top 10 are 's "Fast Money" and 's "Mezmerize."
