Actor Harvey Keitel was handed a lifetime achievement prize Saturday April 16, 2005, at the closing ceremony of the 24th Istanbul Film Festival. Along with him was Italian film legend, Sophia Loren, who received the achievement award at the opening of the festival.
"Gille's Wife" a Belgian film by Frederic Foteyne and a Japanese film "Cafe Lumiere" by Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-Hsien, to add, picked up the Golden Tulip prize. Above all, the best Turkish film in the national competition went to "Anlat Istanbul" or "Istanbul Tales," directed by a team of five: Umit Unal, Kudret Sabanci, Selim Demirdelen, Yucel Yolcu and Omur Atay.
