Scorsese Only Nominee

Scorsese's chance to win his Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Directing has been taken away by his rival Clint Eastwood

Though his film direction The Aviator could win 5 Oscars, still it couldn't bring victory to Martin Scorsese who lost his chance to win the Best Director Award at the 77th Annual Academy Awards, which taken away by his rival Clint Eastwood. This failure has put Scorsese in line with Alfred Hitchcock, Robert Altman, King Vidor and Clarence Brown, all of whom also lost all five times they were nominated.

Won Oscars for Best Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, Costume Design, Film Editing and Art Direction, has infact led the Aviator up againsts Eastwood's Million Dollar baby that get four Oscars for Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Director.
