The 2008 BET Awards Nominees Announced

The nominees for the 2008 BET Awards have been announced on May 15. On the list, Kanye West is nominated for three categories, Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Video Of The Year and Best Collaboration. Meanwhile, rapper T-Pain leads the list with 5 nominations.

A tough battle is set to be faced by Kanye in his effort to win the 2008 BET's Best Male Hip-Hop Artist category. To get the award, the rapper will be competing with some big names on the Hip-Hop realm, such as Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg and Common.

Alicia Keys Inks 25 Million Dollar Contract with Vitamin Water

It seems Alicia Keys' pockets just got a little fatter. The R&B artist reportedly has signed a deal with Glaceau to front a new campaign for its Vitamin Water line that is expected to net her more than $25 million. Details of the deal are set to be announced publicly next week.

Fronting the beverage brand, Alicia follows the footstep of rap mogul 50 Cent who once fronted the health-conscious products. He, however, sold his 10% share of Glaceau, as the Coca Cola company acquired the smaller drinks operation for a whopping $4.1 billion. The rapper netted $400 million in the deal.

Featurette: 'Prince Caspian' Introduces the Creatures of Narnia

Before moviegoers head out to theaters this weekend to catch the latest Narnia movie series, Disney have presented them with the latest featurette of "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian". The newest compilation of clips focuses its discussion on the changes happen to Narnia in the second movie and especially on the variety of creatures to be seen in "Caspian".

Exposing the development of the new as well as the revisited creatures of Narnia, the video footage is aided with the explanation given by director Andrew Adamson, producer Mark Johnson and the special effects crew, including visual effects supervisor Wendy Rogers and Dean Wright and special makeup effects and creature Howard Berger. The featurette, which can be seen below or via AceShowbiz also let out unseen clips from the film that shows some of the creatures closer than before.

Video Premiere: Coldplay's 'Violet Hill'

After the single was released and being made available for a free download, now the clip for Coldplay's "Violet Hill" has been premiered on May 15. The video features the band themselves and was shot in Sicily, Italy.

The song is the first single taken from their upcoming album "Viva la Vida or Death and all His Friends". The single was outed via the band's website on May 6.

Geri Halliwell is getting married. The so-called Ginger Spice has reportedly planned to marry her dancer boyfriend Ivan Velez September later this year.

"Geri has a huge diamond and an even bigger grin on her face now that she and Ivan are marrying," a source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper. "It's been a whirlwind affair but when you know, you know and she doesn't care if she's criticized for being hasty. Her daughter loves Ivan and that's the only opinion she cares about."

'City of Ember' Teaser Trailer Arrives

Introducing their latest adventure fantasy film, Fox-Walden have released the official first teaser trailer of "City of Ember" through their official trailer. Though footages compiled in a one and a half minutes video do not give much of the storyline, it still helps to give an idea of how the movie will look like.

This teaser is said to be the same trailer as the one lets out in the theaters attached to "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian". It picks up its plot momentum using the appearing white words explaining what is happening and what should be done by the two leading kids in order to save the people of Ember. The teaser can be seen below using "Ember" official site's widget, which also includes a countdown clock, a widget map, a news section, and a tab called "Underground" featuring noticeable underground places all over the world. Country Music Singer Shania Twain and Husband Divorcing

Canadian country singer Shania Twain has separated from her husband of 14 years, record producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange, People reported. A spokesman for the songbird confirmed to People, "Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage."

The representative went on adding, "This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time." No further details about the couple's breakup though.

The issue, which is dedicated to Mario Testino's depiction of eroticism, sees Claudia dressed in just a pair of knickers, black stockings and a feline mask. The shoot, according to reports, is meant to mark her gradual return to the modeling scene.

'Traitor' Lets Out Intense First Trailer

The first trailer of the Overture Films' thriller "Traitor" has appeared on the net. The trailer which takes a bit more than two minutes to be viewed pretty much gives out the idea of how intense the movie will look like.

Telling the story of an undercover CIA agent under a special operation to work in a terrorist group, the trailer picks up with a series of clips accompanied with a conversation between two men about war strategy. Right after that, the video footage starts its explosive action sequences. Then, it exposes the intricate works and difficulties faced by the main character, especially when he is accused to be one of the terrorists.

The media stated that Chris' installment to Oasis would spark again the feud between the rockers and Robbie Williams, since the drummer they recruited is one of the members of Robbie's band. Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' Is Preserved by the U.S. Government

Although having lots of problems recently that made his image looked bad, Michael Jackson's musical effort is still being acknowledged by the U.S. Government. Michael's hit album "Thriller" has been added to the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry on May 14.

The act is one of the Congress' plans to preserve culturally, historically or aesthetically significant recordings. Considering the success of Michael's 1982 LP, which achieved not only national but international acclaim, the board decided to add the king of pop's hit record on their list.
