Robin Hood's Twisted Tale of 'Nottingham' On Hold

Having had Russell Crowe and Sienna Miller lining up for "Nottingham" apparently is not enough to keep it away from any problem. Words are the production of the latest and twisted Robin Hood movie which has been set to start in mid-August in London has been postponed indefinitely.

Reports claimed that there are a number of reasons posted by Universal Pictures regarding the production delay. In the first place, it is said that the studio expressed their concern over the possible SAG strike. Then, they want the shooting location, the forest, to be green and last but not least, Universal proposed that there is problem with the script written by Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris which has been rewritten by Brian Helgeland.

'Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' Hits Its American Premiere

Less than a week from its theatrical debut across the U.S. on August 1, "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" celebrated its American premiere with the special first screening at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. The premiere event was held on Sunday, July 27 and marked with the rolling down of red carpet in front of the theater.

Attending the special celebration were director Rob Cohen and most of the cast ensemble, including Brendan Fraser, Maria Bello, Luke Ford, John Hannah, Michelle Yeoh, Jet Li, Isabella Leong and Russell Wong. Other celebrities grazing the red carpet include Velvet Revolver's lead guitarist Slash and actress Phoebe Price.

First Look Into Oliver Stone's 'W' Via Teaser Trailer

Exposing the life and presidency of the 43rd President of the United States George W. Bush, Lionsgate Films present the first teaser trailer of the Oliver Stone's latest feature film project "W". The video footage brings in the lights into the years before Bush even set his eyes on the White House.

Providing the background story to his life, the compilation of clips highlights on Bush's getting into troubles with his partying and gambling antics. It displays him being such a troublemaker up to the point that he is driving drunk and being caught by the police. Halfway through the teaser, the video holds out a question, that is what drove George W. Bush from the brat he was to be the #1 person in the United States.

'X-Files: I Want to Believe' Offers Another Box Office Flop, 'Dark Knight' Still Rules

Apparently, many moviegoers didn't believe in the latest "The X-Files" feature film adaptation. Debuted in theaters a week after "The Dark Knight" made its record-breaking performance in the box office, "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" is far from presenting another impressive box office result. In fact, the sci-fi mystery movie has to be satisfied placing in fourth below its fellow newcomer "Step Brothers".

Pulling in $10 million over the three-days weekend, the Chris Carter's tidbit could not overshadow the success of "X-Files" first movie version which was released on June 19, 1998 and opened atop the box office chart with $30.1 million. Nevertheless, the disappointing result of the flick that teams up David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson once again was not a surprise. Box Office expert Gitesh Pandya has predicted that it would bow in following "Dark Knight" and "Step Brothers" with less than $20 million.

2008 San Diego Comic Con Wrap Up (Part 1/2)

Nearing the release date of "College" on August 29, Lionsgate Films have invited fans and movie lovers alike to see deeper into the outrageous teenage comedy by unearthing the film's red band trailer. Revealing more scenes, the new video footage exposes more on the party, humiliation and revenge the three characters experience.

Opened with a scene where Drake Bell's character Kevin Brewer gets dumped by his girlfriend, the compilation of clips moves on showing Kevin's canteen talks with Fletcher, Carter and Morris where Fletcher describes what will happen during the weekend visit to a nearby college. The scene then cut to the moment Kevin, Carter and Morris arrived at Fieldmont University.

The 2008 San Diego Comic Con has kicked off its film festivities officially on Thursday, July 24 and with it came a bunch of chances to get more scoop on the next highly anticipated movies. Amidst the studios' presentations of their upcoming movies, Movie Web gets the opportunity to go one-on-one with the star of forthcoming "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", Hugh Jackman.

Giving press the chance to question him about "Wolverine", Jackman shared a bit about what fans should expect from the spin-off of the "X-Men" series. In the video interview which can be seen below, the 39-year-old revealed that moviegoers will be presented with the story of Wolverine right from the beginning where viewers can see him as a young child also.

What is Sherlock Holmes' signature trait? To most people, the answer may surely be his genius mind capable of solving even the most elaborated cases. But, it seems that it isn't the only quality of the notable detective "Sherlock Holmes" filmmakers has in mind since they plan on making the character an action hero of his own, like the famous spy agent James Bond.

Speaking to MTV about his reinterpretation of the fictional detective, Ritchie confessed that he wants the character to stay true to his origin. "They never seem to manifest that [element] in some of the earlier productions they've done of 'Sherlock Holmes,'" explained the husband of Madonna. "We're trying to bring a completely contemporary and entertaining perspective on an intellectual action hero true to his origins where he was more of an action guy originally."

More of Nick Fury in 'Thor' and 'Captain America'

Few days back, it has been reported that Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury character in "Iron Man", will be having its share to work together with Iron Man and Hulk in Marvel's forthcoming feature film project "The Avengers". Still, it looks like that the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be seen in other upcoming Marvel's comic book adaptations.

Sharing his insight to MTV at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con on Thursday, July 24, Jackson hinted that his character may be making cameo appearances in almost every Marvel's superhero flicks for the next few years. "Yeah, I'm looking forward to making that character a bit more integral, in terms of the other stories that are happening," the 59-year-old confessed. "'Iron Man 2,' 'Captain America,' 'Thor,' and hopefully the big one that's coming in 2011, when they put everybody together."

Singing Paris Hilton in 'Repo!''s Extended Clip

The Hollywood most talked about socialite, Paris Hilton, has had her own recording album. She also has several minor and supporting roles in various feature films since 2001. With the forthcoming rock musical "Repo! The Genetic Opera", the 27-year-old is going to combine those two talents and it can be seen through the film's recently released extended clip.

Portraying Rotti Largo's daughter by the name of Amber Sweet, in the more than three minutes clip, Hilton can be seen joining the other cast ensemble when they perform one musical number explaining about Zydrate. Sharing screen with Alexa Vega who is depicting Shilo Wallace, the clip also explains that Sweet is addicted to surgery.

Keanu Reeves, No 'Plastic Man'

Apparently, "Speed" star Keanu Reeves won't be stretching any part of his body anytime in the future. Responding to the recent speculation on him being the elastic superhero in the Wachowski brothers' "Plastic Man", the 43-year-old didn't need a long time to put off the flaming rumor.

When asked by MTV about the truth of the speculation at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con, the co-star of Sandra Bullock in "The Lake House" revealed, "[it's] not true for me." Adding further, he stated, "It might be true for other people but I haven't heard anything about it." Though nixing his involvement, Reeves noted that he is keen on working with the Wachowskis once again.

Leonardo DiCaprio to Revive 'Twilight Zone'

Another classic sci-fi television series is going to be brought into the big screen. Following the footsteps of "Star Trek" and "The X-Files", the anthology series of "The Twilight Zone" is most likely to have a new feature film of the same name. This time, it is said to be the project of Leonardo DiCaprio's production company Appian Way and Warner Bros. Pictures.

Words are the two are currently in the early stages of seeking material for the movie project. It is further explained that the film may take on one or more episode of the TV series. Unlike "Zone" first big screen version which was made as an episodic movie, the new film is expected to have one continuing storyline based on several episodes.

'Silver Surfer' Won't Have 'I, Robot' Helmer as Director

Contrary to the previous rumor, the "I, Robot" director Alex Proya is not attached to "Silver Surfer", the possible spin-off of "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer". The denial has been offered by the 44-year-old filmmaker himself when he is attending the presentation of Summit Entertainment's "Knowing".

On the occasion held at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con, the Australian film director insisted that the earlier report is just a mere rumor. "Unfortunately that is just a rumor. I don't know where that came from," he explained. "I do like Silver Surfer, but I'm not going to be doing it."

Ultraviolent 'Punisher: War Zone' Footage From San Diego Comic Con

Lionsgate Films have brought special treat for "Punisher" fans. At the end of their presentation for their forthcoming action thriller "Punisher: War Zone" at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con on July 24, the studio screened a new restricted footage. Giving others a chance to also enjoy the gory-looking video, IGN has presented it on the Internet.

Providing many new unseen footages from the movie, the compilation of clips is focused on one action sequences after another. Through the video, viewers can see more of the blood splatter which won't be able to be exposed in normal trailer. There, it can be seen people shot in the head, punched in the face with full force causing the bone structure to cave in and many other violent acts.

'Harold and Kumar' Going for Third Film

In their first film, they have arrived at the White Castle and in the second, they have escaped from the Guantanamo Bay. Now, it looks like the two hilarious stoners, Harold and Kumar, are ready to fall into a new adventure with a third film, "Harold and Kumar 3", being picked up by Mandate Pictures.

Coming back for the third installment of the R-rated feature film project are Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg who serve as screenwriters of "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" and "Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay" as well as director of the latter. For this new project, the pair has been touted to once again write the script and helm the movie.
