Matthew McConaughey Not Returning for 'True Detective' Season 2

The Sunday, March 9 finale of "True Detective" would be the last episode that Matthew McConaughey stars in. The actor, who won an Oscar that day for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club", is not returning for the HBO series' second season.

McConaughey was the one sharing the sad news in the press room of the Academy Awards backstage. "I won't be back for season two. Season one was finite," he said. Meanwhile, HBO has not said anything about season two being picked up.

John Travolta became the subject of ridicule after he messed up his presentation of Idina Menzel's performance at Sunday, March 2 Academy Awards ceremony. The veteran actor had difficulty mentioning the singer's name, reading it as something that sounded like "Adele Nazeem".

Menzel, a Tony Award-winning singer/actress, was due to perform the nominated song "Let It Go" from "Frozen (2013)". Travolta was given the task to introduce her and said, "Please welcome the wickedly talented Adele Nazeem."

Little Mix has just dropped the music video for "Word Up". Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock are featured hitting the gym and showing off their athletic side in the three-and-a-half-minute clip.

Donning their workout gears, the ladies break some sweat on the treadmill and exercise bikes. They play fitness instructors as they perform some stretches and dance energetically with some gym goers that include Olympic gymnast Louis Smith.

Lady GaGa had fun at the 22nd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party which took place on Sunday, March 2. She opted for a strapless Versace dress, Brian Atwood shoes, and jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz at the event.

According to E! News, the Mother Monster arrived at the event at 7.30 P.M. David Furnish then took her to a table where the veteran singer and Donatella Versace sat. The "Applause" hitmaker greeted them as well as Jane Fonda who was also with them.

Arctic Monkeys has debuted the official music video for their newest single, "Arabella". Shot in black and white, the four-minute clip opens with a parental advisory warning before giving glimpses at the British four-piece performing the song in a room.

The performance footage intersperses with scenes of a wild house party and a group of young people riding motorbikes. Some girls are seen getting topless while some couples are making out and some others are drinking together.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live!" was back with its annual "After the Oscars" special on Sunday, March 2. This time, Jimmy Kimmel presented not only one, but four faux movie trailers as he wanted to "adapt popular YouTube videos into big-budget Hollywood movies."

Martin Scorsese introduced the first faux trailer for "Bitman Begins", which was Christopher Nolan-esque take on "Charlie Bit Me". It centered on the rivalry between Chris Hemsworth's character and his brother, played by Chris' real-life brother Liam Hemsworth, which started with a bite. Meryl Streep played the boys' mother and Tom Hanks appeared as a man dressing like a monk.

Brad Pitt collected Best Picture trophy for "12 Years a Slave" at the Oscars which took place at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre on Sunday, March 2. The actor, however, admitted that he started the Oscar day in a less-glamorous way.

Speaking to reporters at the backstage, Pitt shared that he had to clean up his bedroom that morning. "I cleaned up dog poop today," he said of how he prepared for the event, as quoted by New York Daily News. The actor/producer then went on talking about the film, saying, "I love this movie. It's a heroic story of a man in an inhumane situation trying to get back to his family."

Coldplay Sets New Album's Release Date, Drops New Single

During In Memoriam section, some stars such as Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Walker, James Gandolfini, Peter O'Toole, film critic Roger Ebert, child actress Shirley Temple Black and "Harry Potter" actor Richard Griffiths were remembered.

Hoffman passed away last month due to drug overdose at the age of 46. His notable works included "Capote", "Charlie Wilson's War", "Doubt" and "The Master". Walker, who is popular for his role in "Fast and Furious" movies, died in a fiery car crash in December, while Gandolfini who took part in "The Sopranos" passed away in Italy after having a heart attack.

With that number, the tweet has become the most retweeted post of all time, defeating previous record which was hold by President Barack Obama's account. The sweet photo of him hugging Michelle Obama from his re-election in 2012 received more than 700,000 retweets back then. "We had a good run, little tweet. We had a good run," Laura Olin, who was part of the Obama social media team, tweeted after the record was broken.

"The most precious thing I can remember is when he would sit crouched on his long legs, resting his head in his hands, and devoured the actors with his lovely blue eyes as though we were diamonds. The audience consists of 51% female and 65% over the age of 25. It becomes his second best opening after "Taken 2" which started with $49.5 million in 2012.

Giuliana Rancic, Ryan Seacrest, Kelly Osbourne and Olympic figure skaters Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski were among the early stars to arrive at the 86th Annual Academy Awards. They were on duty to cover the red carpet fashion for such media outlets as E! and Access Hollywood.

Braving the rain, Rancic held an umbrella as she posed for photographs in a Paolo Sebastian dress. The E! Fashion Police correspondent will share the task with Seacrest, who was wearing a white tuxedo, and Osbourne who was pretty in a white Badgley Mischka dress. Weir and Lipinski, who were doing live reports for Access Hollywood, strolled through the wet carpet in matching white outfits.
