Katy Perry Criticized by Consumer Health Groups for Promoting Pepsi

Being an international pop music superstar has an overreaching influence on young fans that a product endorsement can even put them at the risk of being overweight or obese. This is what "Roar" singer Katy Perry may have realized on Tuesday, October 22, when the Center for Science in the Public Interest and six other consumer health advocacy groups placed a one-page ad on Variety magazine slamming her for promoting the popular soft drink brand.

"Virginia Slims and other tobacco companies used glamorous celebrities and models to position smoking as hip, sexy and rebellious. Today soda companies are using you and other celebrities to convince young people that drinking soda is hip, sexy and rebellious. 'Drink Pepsi and you can be cool like Katy Perry,' is the takeaway message for your young fans. 'Live for now' and worry about the health consequences later," the nutrition watchdogs told the 28-year-old singer.

DJ Pauly D, who recently revealed that he is a father to a baby girl, reportedly is in custody battle with the baby's mother. According to a TMZ report, Pauly thinks that his baby mama, who goes by Amanda, is not a fit mother.

Pauly apparently thinks so because Amanda is only 25 and she has another child from previous relationship. He also points out the fact that Amanda once worked at Hooters. Therefore, he submitted some documents to seek some level of custody of their daughter.

TLC Releases Music Video for 'Meant to Be'

TLC has unveiled the music video for their newest single, "Meant to Be". The new video sees the members of the all-girls group, Tionne Watkins a.k.a. T-Boz and Rozonda Thomas a.k.a. Chilli, reuniting to make music together in a recording studio.

Written by R&B singer Ne-Yo, "Meant to Be" serves as the soundtrack to their VH1 biopic, "Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story". Starring Keke Palmer, Drew Sidora and Lil Mama, the biopic aired on October 21.

Jessica Lange has mapped out her retirement from acting. The 64-year-old star, who says that her role in HBO's movie "Grey Gardens" "brought back the thrill of acting," opens up about her version of a five-year plan in an interview to Los Angeles Times.

"I am coming to the end of acting," she reveals. "I have a list: another stage production, maybe one or two more movies, one more season of 'American Horror Story' ... and then that is it for me. Because I think that's enough. I want to go out with a bang ... or should I say, a scare?"

She may have decided to go for a simple, secret wedding over a grand one last Sunday, October 20 when she finally tied the knot with music manager Brandon Blackstock, but Kelly Clarkson did not forget her fans who would surely be all too curious about how her special day went. The 31-year-old singer and new Mrs. Blackstock shared their romantic wedding video on Tuesday via Twitter.

"Here is a little video of our special day! Thanks to everyone for all of your well wishes!!! #cloud9 #tieitup," Clarkson wrote along with her video post. The one-and-a-half-minute clip, set to Patty Griffin's "Heavenly Day", featured scenic shots of the wedding location, Blackberry Farms in Walland, Tennessee, and showed the couple with only the wedding officiant and Brandon's children Seth and Savannah.

"Anchorman" gets its own ice cream flavor. In another cross-promotional effort, Paramount and Ben & Jerry team up to launch a new ice cream flavor inspired by the film, which will be getting its sequel released in late this year.

The limited run flavor is called "Scotchy Scotch Scotch", but there's no actual Scotch in the ice cream. According to a press release, "the flavor is a creamy concoction of butterscotch ice cream with ribbons of butterscotch swirl."

For the second consecutive year, actor Robert Downey Jr. is named Hollywood's most valuable movie star by New York Magazine's Vulture. The site compiled the list based on combined domestic and overseas box office totals, studio value, likeability, Oscars, critics' scores, Twitter mentions and tabloid value. Earlier this year, the "Iron Man" star also topped another list, that of Forbes' highest paid actors.

"It will take a superhuman effort for anyone to top him," Vulture declared on its site as they unveiled the power list on Tuesday morning, October 22. Indeed, RDJ would be tough to overtake considering his "appeal is off the charts" after having portrayed the character of Tony Stark in the "Iron Man" film franchise and Marvel's "The Avengers".

Another possible Oscar contender is out of the race for the 2013 Academy Awards. George Clooney has revealed that his latest directorial gig, "The Monuments Men", is pushed back from the planned release date of December 18 this year to early 2014.

"We just didn't have enough time [to complete the film's visual effects,]" he told Los Angeles Times by phone from London on Tuesday, October 22. "If any of the effects looked cheesy, the whole movie would look cheesy. We simply don't have enough people to work enough hours to finish it," he further explained, "All we've ever said, from the very beginning, is that we wanted to make a commercial, non-cynical piece of entertainment."

Harrison passed away at his home in Ashburton, Devon in England. He apparently had heart attack after performing at the village of Black Dog prior to his death. "He will be loved and missed by more people than I ever knew," Harrison's wife, Lori Chapman, told the Associated Press.

The evil Marine Colonel Quaritch will be brought back to the "Avatar" universe, despite the fact that he met his demise in the first film. Stephen Lang, who played the villain in the 2009 movie, is confirmed by director James Cameron to return not just for the second entry but for the third and fourth installments as well.

"Steven was so memorable in the first film, we're privileged to have him back," he said. "I'm not going to say exactly how we're bringing him back, but it's a science fiction story, after all. "I'm proud I'm a father," the disc jokey confirms to TMZ. "I am excited to embark on this new part of my life."

He reportedly didn't know about the child until recently. "She contacted him after the baby was born. He of course had to take precautions before believing the baby was his, but he is definitely excited to be a dad," a source tells Us Weekly.
