Carrie Underwood Previews Her Version of 'Sunday Night Football' Theme

Country singer and "American Idol" season three winner Carrie Underwood has previewed her rendition of NBC's "Sunday Night Football" opening theme which will make its debut during the new season's kick-off match on September 8 between home team, the Dallas Cowboys versus the New York Giants. The 30-year-old music superstar replaces fellow country music diva Faith Hill who had handled the singing chores on "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" since 2007.

The less than 30-seconds teaser showed Underwood in the studio recording the song for "primetime TV's no. 1 show," interspersed with zoomed-in shots of the players. Compared to Hill's version, Grammy Award-winning Underwood puts a rock spin on her rendition, where she shows off her powerful vocals before finally saying, "Waiting all day for Sunday night."

Lady GaGa has shared more lyrics from "Applause", the first single off her upcoming album "ARTPOP". "I stand here waiting for you to bang the gong/ To crash the critic saying: is it right or is it wrong?" GaGa wrote the lyrics on Twitter. She also reminded her fans to immediately check out her music when it arrives on August 19. "8.19," she added.

GaGa has been teasing fans with the lyrics of her highly-anticipated new single. Previously, she wrote on her Little Monster website, "Give me that thing that I love/ Put your hands up, make 'em touch."

How Agent Coulson lives after being killed off in "The Avengers" is a big mystery that has been looming since ABC announced "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.". At the TCA summer press tour, executive producer Joss Whedon said the show would definitely address the much-asked question.

"We will be dealing with the issue, obviously...It will be drawn out over several episodes," Whedon promised. Executive producer Jeph Loeb, meanwhile, said there was never a time when they contemplated about doing "S.H.I.E.L.D." without Clark Gregg's Coulson. "There was never going to be a show called Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. without Clark," he insisted.

Big Time Rush has debuted the music video for "We Are". In the video, group members Logan Henderson, James Maslow, Kendall Schmidt and Carlos Pena Jr. are seen performing at their concerts, entertaining fans with their wonderful vocal.

The video also gives behind-the-scene looks at the boyband's concert. The boys can be seen rehearsing on the stage, hanging out together and doing some silly things like jumping on the trampolines and spraying string to each others.

Emily Blunt Reportedly Rejected by UNICEF for Not Being Famous Enough

British actress Emily Blunt apparently has been turned down by UNICEF because they feel that the actress is not famous enough to be their ambassador. "The Devil Wears Prada" star was supported by the London office of the United Nations Children's Fund, but the New York executives reportedly turned down the proposal.

"UNICEF was keen to court Emily and made contact with her. She's a big name in British cinema, glamorous, and very much on the rise after winning some big accolades, so she seemed to be a perfect addition," a source told Daily Mail.

Karl Urban Explains Why He Would Never Do a 'Star Wars' Movie

Karl Urban may be a fan of the "Star Wars" film franchise but in a new interview with IGN, the New Zealand actor revealed why he would never want to be cast in "Star Wars Episode 7" intended for a 2015 summer release. This is despite the fact that J.J. Abrams, whose Bad Robot Productions will be producing his new FOX series "Almost Human", will direct it.

"No, absolutely not," answered Urban rather straightforwardly when asked if he ever considered to be cast in the next "Star Wars" movie given his close association with Abrams. The 41-year-old actor was quick to explain why he would not want to star in it, but not before he would first reveal how much of a downright "Star Wars" fanatic he was.

The episode featuring Lohan will air Sunday, August 18 at 9/8c on OWN. The network has also nabbed an eight-episode docu-series starring the "Liz & Dick" star which will follow the former Disney star as she works to rebuild her career and stay healthy.

Swedish DJ Tim Bergling a.k.a. Avicii reached international success with his 2011's single, "Levels". He has returned with another hit, "Wake Me Up", that gives him the similar success as it is currently topping several charts across the world.

Avicii worked with Aloe Blacc in the track, which interestingly has a taste of country in it. "When I was with Mike Einziger from Incubus, we came up with the chord progression and the melody for 'Wake Me Up' but no real lyrics," Avicii recently said of how he ended up working with Blacc.

First Pictures of 'The Book Thief' Starring Sophie Nelisse

Filmmaker Brian Percival's new project "The Book Thief", based on the best-selling novel by Markus Zusak, won't hit U.S. theaters until November 15, but fans can get a sneak peek at it through newly-released photos. The images offer film fanatics a first look at its young lead star, French-Canadian actress Sophie Nelisse, who draws admiration from Percival and veteran co-star Geoffrey Rush.

"It was quite uncanny, this kid. I was taken right away. It was this mixture of naive innocence but at the same time she's actually quite ballsy. You feel that you can get kneed in the groin at any point," the director said about her young lead star. "Fortunately, she just nailed it," Percival said about Nelisse's portrayal of the film's young heroine Liesel Meminger, acting opposite much older and experienced thespians such as Rush and Emily Watson.

A 12-year-old boy feels cheated by "Jeopardy!". Thomas Hurley was one of the contestants in an episode taped in February and aired last week. In the final round, he and the other two players were asked to write down the name of the 1863 document Abraham Lincoln said was a "fit and necessary war measure."

Hurley made the right guess, Emancipation Proclamation, but he wrote the first word "emanciptation." Host Alex Trebek said the judges ruled against it and the boy lost $3,000 he'd wagered.

Rap group Death Grips failed to show up at their scheduled Lollapalooza aftershow gig at the Bottom Lounge, Chicago, on Friday night, August 2. Fans, who had packed the venue, were disappointed after learning that the group wouldn't be playing. They then stormed the stage and destroyed the band's equipment including a drum kit that presumably belonged to Zach Hill.

Before it was announced that the band was a no show, the venue played recordings of Death Grips music on the empty stage. The stage backdrop featured a Gmail screenshot of a suicide note, which was allegedly written by a Death Grips fan.

Apparently, a late start made it impossible for the quintet to squeeze in the full show before the strict 11 P.M. curfew came up.

"As has always been the case, the Backstreet Boys production is unlike anything else on the road" and the "state of the art" concert setup, as explained in a statement the following day by the venue's manager, Live Nation, had caused the delay in admitting the ticketholders and in starting the concert. Consequently, the show had to be cut off without an encore, leaving fans disappointed.

She also asked producers of "Chelsea Lately" to put non-alcoholic drinks only in her dressing room as she made an appearance as a guest-host on the show. In addition, the 27-year-old actress reportedly would be accompanied by a sober coach at least for the next week so that she would not be tempted to touch liquor.

Directed by Icelandic filmmaker Baltasar Kormakur, the movie interestingly attracted 49% women of the audience despite its genre and R rating. It also drew an ethnically diverse audience, with African-Americans making up 28% of the audience and Hispanics 14%.

A Man Arrested for Trying to Rob Kid Rock's House

A 43-year-old man who allegedly attempted to break into Kid Rock's house has been arrested at his home north of Detroit. A 1994 Ford Club Wagon van, which was used to ram to the gated driveway, has also been recovered and impounded.

On Friday, August 2, Rock posted a picture of the culprit on his official website. The man was caught on camera forcing open the star's gate and trying to sneak into the house but failed. He was wanted for "trespassing, destruction of property and attempted home invasion."
