Demi Lovato to Kick Off 2012 MTV VMAs Pre-Show

Before things get going at 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday, September 6, there will be a warm-up session kicked off by Demi Lovato. The 20-year-old singer has been tapped to perform her hit "Give Your Heart a Break" at 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show.

"I'm so excited to perform at the VMA preshow. I can't believe it!" said Lovato. The live broadcast of the pre-show will start at 7 P.M. ET/PT, featuring as well DJ Calvin Harris who will entertain the crowd through the night.

Report: Morgan Freeman and Elizabeth Banks Tapped for 'Lego' Movie

More actors are tapped to join "Lego: The Piece of Resistance". After Chris Pratt was confirmed to spearhead the voice of the lead character, Emmet, Deadline reports that Morgan Freeman and Elizabeth Banks will lend their voices to the project.

Rumor has it, "The Dark Knight Rises" actor Freeman will voice a character named Vitruvius. According to Variety's Jeff Sneider, Morgan's character is "a blind sage described as Gandalf meets Mr. Magoo." Meanwhile, "The Hunger Games" star Banks will "play Pratt's bad-ass ex-g/f."

'Psycho' Prequel Series Casts Vera Farmiga as Norma Bates

A&E Network's "Bates Motel" is tapping Vera Farmiga to take one of its key roles. The actress/director is slated to join the upcoming series, which will serve as a prequel to Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 film "Psycho", to portray Norma Louise Bates.

The mother of young Norman Bates, Mrs. Bates is "complicated, passionate, and compelling." She is additionally described as "a smart, multidimensional character who is always capable of surprising us."

Jamie Bell Joins Pornographic Drama 'Nymphomaniac', Nicole Kidman Is Also Eyed

More actors have been tapped to join Shia LaBeouf in Lars von Trier's pornographic drama "The Nymphomaniac". Courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, British actor Jamie Bell has been sealed to star in the controversial project along with Danish actress Connie Nielsen.

Details of Bell's and Nielsen's roles are yet to be confirmed. Both actors are set to join the likes of Charlotte Gainsbourg and Stellan Skarsgard and will begin filming in Germany this Thursday, August 30 for an 11-week shoot.

New York's four-piece hip hop rockers Gym Class Heroes released their latest music video "Martyrial Girl$". The song is from their latest full-length album "The Papercut Chronicles II", a sequel of their 2005 album "The Papercut Chronicles".

The song is a mixture of rock sound that corresponds to hip hop music era, resulting to a track that caters both rock and rap music fanatics. The music video sees the band detained in a brick-wall room doing their moves and stuff. The doorman only allows pretty girls to enter the band's premises and leaves ugly ducklings out in the open.

Sylvester Stallone's Half-Sister Died of Lung Cancer a Month After His Son's Death

Sylvester Stallone, who is still grieving over the death of his son Sage, is mourning his half-sister Toni Ann Filiti. She lost battle against lung cancer and passed away Sunday morning, August 26 at her mother's residence in Santa Monica, California. She was 48 years old.

Toni stayed in a local hospital before being moved home for her final days. "I was holding her in my arms. I had just washed [her] face and told her how pretty she looked, and she just fell asleep," Jackie Stallone told the New York Daily News. "She's too young to go, but she wasn't feeling any pain."

However, the novelist says in another scene, "So it wasn't a dream." Beckett, who appears to be wearing a bath robe, asks Castle if he liked it. He says, "Yeah," and she says she liked it too. One of their new cases is also previewed and it involves putting together pieces of paper.

Padilha's close friend Fernando Meirelles, who is also a fellow Brazilian filmmaker, reportedly told South American website Cinemacom Rapadura that the "Elite Squad" helmer "suffered" so much while working on the sci-fi project. Meirelles told the site that his buddy had "the worst experience" with the remake project.

Tony Scott Cremated, Scholarship Created by Family

Tony Scott's body has been cremated, it's mentioned on his death certificate. His ashes will be kept by his widow Donna Wilson at a "place of final disposition," which is their Los Angeles house. The cause of his death hasn't been determined pending results of toxicology tests.

The "Top Gun" director was remembered in a private memorial held by the family over the weekend. His family has asked fans to make donation to Tony Scott Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers. The charity will benefit aspiring moviemakers studying at the American Film Institute.

Bay falls short of ruling the list and settles at No. 2 with $160 million, some of which he got from his recent blockbuster "Transformers: Dark of the Moon".

Set in America in the years following World War II, "The Master" follows a charismatic intellectual (Hoffman) who launches a faith-based organization and taps a young drifter (Phoenix) as his right-hand man. However, as the faith begins to gain a fervent following, the onetime vagabond finds himself questioning the belief system he has embraced, and his mentor.

In this phase, the judges will mentor 32 acts who are divided in four different categories (8 acts in each category). It is confirmed that Steven Spielberg is not working on a movie about the Osama Bin Laden raid. A representative for the veteran filmmaker has clarified that he and DreamWorks never plan to adapt "No Easy Day", a book about the hunt for Bin Laden which is written by one of the Navy SEALs who joined the infamous attack in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

"Neither Steven Spielberg, DreamWorks Studios or DreamWorks Television will be optioning Mark Owen's book, No Easy Day," Spielberg's rep Marvin Levy says, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

Four posters from "American Horror Story: Asylum" have been released leading to the upcoming premiere. Debuted exclusively via Entertainment Weekly, one of the images sees a nun with a face as white as porcelain crying black liquid from her black eyes.

Another one-sheet reenacts the promo which features a nun leaving a body trail in the woods. The other two posters see a nun floating in the hydrobath and a nun walking up the stairs while another woman crawls on the other side of the stairs. The posters also mention the premiere date of the second season, which is on October 17.

Radar Online has learned that a camera crew from 495 Productions, which produces the "Jersey Shore" spin-off, was in the MTV reality star's hospital room "in the hours leading up to her birth." A source says, "Viewers will see Snooki in labor."

The cameramen were "kicked out as she was about to give birth," but Snooki's fiance Jionni LaValle reportedly "was using a personal camcorder and he carried on filming." The source adds, "Jionni only filmed at Snooki's head though so viewers will most likely see very little footage of the actual birth... It was done very tastefully and with respect to Snooki and other patients at the New Jersey hospital."

"Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars" has revealed the 13th contestant who will participate in the competition. Based on viewers' choice vote, Sabrina Bryan wins the final spot, beating out Carson Kressley and Kyle Massey who were also vying for the gig.

"I am so excited. I'm getting teary eyed just right now," she said when the result was announced Monday, August 27 on "Good Morning America". The former Disney star added, "It was a fight...We all three really wanted it. I'm the lucky one with some amazing, incredible fans that have really stuck behind me...
