Charlie Sheen and Jerry Lewis Allegedly Courted for 'American Idol'

Charlie Sheen and Jerry Lewis have been mentioned as possible new judges on "American Idol". Per TMZ's report, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe said he wanted to have the two actors in the show's season 12. According to the site, Lythgoe would not confirm if he was joking, "but he repeated his wish list several times during the conversation."

While people doubt if Lythgoe meant what he said about Sheen and Lewis, the former "Two and a Half Men" star seemingly didn't rule out the possibility of him joining the FOX reality series. He even mentioned several conditions that must be met before he would seal the deal.

John Blake Curious About Batman in First Clip of 'The Dark Knight Rises'

In less than two weeks before it opens nationwide, "The Dark Knight Rises" finally unveils its first ever clip. Instead of focusing on Batman, Bane or Catwoman, the newly-released snippet highlights an interrogative chit-chat between Joseph Gordon-Levitt's John Blake and Gary Oldman's Commissioner Gordon.

Blake seems to have a great curiosity about Batman and aims to find out more about the figure by asking Gordon. "It's about that night, this night, 8 years ago when Dent died, the last confirmed sighting of The Batman. He murders those people, takes down two SWAT teams, kills Dent and then he just...vanishes?" the young officer seriously asks, to which Gordon reluctantly replies, "I'm not hearing a question son..."

Run DMC to Reunite at Fun Fun Fun Fest in November

The legendary Hip-Hop group Run DMC are reuniting to perform at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas later this year. The surviving members of the group, Joseph "Run" Simmons and Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels, will headline the main stage of the festival which will run from November 2 to 4.

Their appearance at the festival is the group's first gig together since 2002, the year when they broke up after the death of their DJ and producer Jason "Jam Master Jay" Mizell.

'Game of Thrones' Debuts Comic-Con Posters, Injured Kit Harington Will Skip the Panel

HBO has given another reason for "Game of Thrones" fans to come to San Diego Comic-Con this week. Already scheduling a panel for the hit series, the cable channel now teams up with collectible arts boutique Mondo to debut three limited-edition posters that will be on sale during the convention.

One piece of the artworks is very artistic and surreal, with a number of swords being displayed. Another poster is black and white, and features several key characters above the image of tigers hunting a deer. The other one-sheet is dominated with blue color and captures a shot of the woods.

Warner Bros. to Announce Next DC Films Soon, May Release 'Justice League' in 2015

Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment apparently have already prepared a number of new movies after "The Dark Knight Rises". Warners' film group President Jeff Robinov revealed that the studio will announce its upcoming comic book movies real soon.

"My hope is that over the next month or so, we'll be ready to lay out the plan for the next DC movies," Robinov told Los Angeles Times. The upcoming announcement will likely involve confirmation on whether or not Warners/DC will make the big screen take on Aquaman, Flash and Wonder Woman.

How did Katie Holmes keep her divorce plan from Tom Cruise? According to Los Angeles Times, the actress used a disposable cellphone to contact her lawyers and build her case without the "Rock of Ages" actor knowing about her plan.

The phone reportedly was provided by Katie's friend, and she used it to hire attorneys from three law firms in three different states. Tom indeed said he felt blindsided when she filed for divorce on June 28 and sought sole custody of their 6-year-old daughter Suri.

Prior to his performance, Phillips expressed his excitement on Twitter. He posted a photo of himself at rehearsals, saying, "Gettin ready for tonight!" He took the stage before the start of the game and was well received by the crowd of baseball fans.

Lindsay Lohan might be close to add another big screen project to her resume. After landing a role in "The Canyons", the troubled actress, who will appear as Elizabeth Taylor in TV movie "Liz & Dick", is reportedly in talks to join horror comedy pic "Scary Movie 5".

The news was first broken by The Wrap, which has learned that Lohan might star in the fifth installment of the horror-movie spoof franchise. Details of what character the 26-year-old actress will play are still unclear. Representatives for the production haven't said anything yet to confirm Lohan's casting.

DirecTV Drops Viacom's Channels Before Midnight Deadline

DirecTV has yanked off seventeen Viacom-owned channels as negotiations between the two companies failed to reach a deal. On Tuesday, July 10, just before midnight Eastern, such cable channels as Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, BET, VH1 and CMT went dark on DirecTV.

Claiming that DirecTV "dropped the channels without giving Viacom advanced warning," Viacom said through a representative, "We are deeply disappointed that DirecTV dropped Viacom's channels before our midnight deadline this evening, severing our connection with its nearly 20 million subscribers nationwide." The two companies' last contact was at 11 A.M. on Tuesday.

Coldplay's 'Mylo Xyloto' Comic Book to be Released at Comic-Con

The six-part comic book series inspired by Coldplay's fifth studio album "Mylo Xyloto" is set to debut at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. The band announced on Tuesday, July 10 on their official website that it is a collaborative effort with animation director Mark Osborne who has previously worked on "Kung Fu Panda".

In a Q&A segment on the website, Osborne explains how the concept of the project was formed. Of the comic's origins, he says, "The comic is the latest expression of a music-driven feature animated film that the band and I started developing several years ago."

Tony Award winner Nina Arianda has received an honor to portray rock icon Janis Joplin in a biopic. It was Deadline which first shared the news that Arianda would make her big screen debut as a lead actress by playing the 1960s rocker, who died due to heroin overdose at age 27 in 1970, in an indie movie called "Joplin".

"Joplin" would follow the final six months of the late singer's life with flashbacks to her early career. Producer Peter Newman revealed that Arianda, who is best known for her performance in Broadway play "Born Yesterday", will show off her vocal chops to do justice to Joplin's signature gritty voice. There are around 21 of Joplin's songs that would be featured in the biopic.

'Hunger Games' Final Chapter 'Mockingjay' to Be Split Into Two Films

"The Hunger Games" film franchise will follow the footsteps of the "Twilight Saga" and the "Harry Potter" movie series by splitting its final chapter into two parts. The news was confirmed by Lionsgate Films on Tuesday, July 10.

The studio officially announced that "Mockingjay", the third and final book of the Suzanne Collins-written novel series, would be adapted into the big screen in two installments. The first one, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1", would be released in the U.S. on November 21, 2014, while its follow-up ,"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2", would hit theaters nationwide on November 20, 2015.

The studio which produces the hugely popular vampire movie series has offered condolences to the family and friends of the 53-year-old Twihard who was killed outside the San Diego Convention Center.

"Lionsgate, Summit and the entire Twilight community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today due to a traffic accident during the hours leading up to this year's convention in San Diego," so the studio says in a statement. "Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim's family and friends. She will be respectfully remembered this Thursday in Hall H."

Seth Meyers is not going to join "Live! with Kelly" as a permanent co-host. Following report which said he's the frontrunner to be Regis Philbin's replacement, the comedian answers, "No, no, no, no, no," when asked by the Orlando Sun Sentinel if he will take the job.

The "New Year's Eve" star further indicates that he won't leave his current job as the head writer on "Saturday Night Live". "I know [Regis' replacement] is a very important thing down there," he adds. "But, right now, what I would say to you: I'm really in love with the job I have.
