Video: Christian Bale Gets Emotional After Watching Heath Ledger in 'Dark Knight'

The screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" latest footage at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards Christian took an unexpectedly emotional turn. Christian Bale, who shared screen with Heath Ledger in 2008's "The Dark Knight", got emotional after watching the late actor as a Joker in the montage.

"Wow, great to remember Heath at that moment. Wonderful to see Heath Ledger there," the Bruce Wayne/Batman depicter said before lowering his head. He presented the sneak peek along with his two co-stars Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Director Christopher Nolan later joined the three stars on stage.

'Game of Thrones' Showrunners Renew Deals for Two More Seasons

Having just wrapped up the second chapter, "Game of Thrones" has secured its showrunners for two more seasons. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have renewed their deals to shepherd the medieval fantasy series until season 4.

Though so, Entertainment Weekly stresses that it does not mean the drama show will automatically get a fourth season pick-up. Back in April, HBO ordered the third season just nine days after premiering the second season.

Damon Lindelof Explains Why 'Prometheus' Is Not 'Alien' Prequel

Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" is only days away from being unleashed in the United States. In anticipation of the film's release, screenwriter Damon Lindelof briefly revealed the reason why fans should not expect the much awaited space thriller as a prequel to 1979's "Alien".

Speaking to New York Daily News, the "Lost" co-creator explained why the movie is a standalone despite the fact that it was initially designed as a prequel. "The problem with prequels is that they're inevitable," the writer insisted.

The bride wore a Chanel dress pleated in muslin and organza designed by Karl Lagerfeld, while the groom donned a Tom Ford tuxedo. Will's father Arie Kopelman is a former Chanel CEO.

HBO has just released another promo for "True Blood" season 5. Featuring Carrie Preston (Arlene) who reminds viewers of when the show will return, the short snippet offers glimpses of the upcoming chapter, including the ones that see Jason kneeling in front of a tomb, a hand coming out from the ground, and Sookie who seemingly has an intimate moment with Alcide.

In the fifth season of the HBO hit series, Russell Edgington is released from his cement grave. Dishing on who brought his character back, Denis O'Hare recently said, "It's somebody who nobody knows yet. It's a surprising character. And I think you get a hint in episode two, and then a big hint in episode five."

Machine Gun Kelly has premiered a music video to support his single "Invincible", which features Ester Dean. The clip itself is loaded with a host of dramatic scenes, including those which see a girl dealing with an unplanned pregnancy, a crowd of youngsters getting involved in a neighborhood brawl, and two kids stealing a cop car.

"As my world turns, the heart beats/Not only in my chest, but the heart in the streets," so the Cleveland native raps. Dean, meanwhile, provides a powerful hook as she sings, "I hear voices in the air/I hear it loud and clear/The're telling me to listen/ Nothing can compare/I just want to listen/Telling me/I'm invincible."

Nicki Minaj has scrapped her scheduled performance at Hot 97's Summer Jam 2012. The Harajuku Barbie bowed out of the hip-hop summit at the last minutes after the radio's DJ Peter Rosenberg dissed her song "Starships" at the concert that took place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday, June 3.

The radio personality reportedly told the crowd that Minaj "better not perform that wack a** 'Starships' track," before introducing Oakland rapper Kendrick Lamar on the stage. He was additionally said to have called the "Stupid Hoe" songstress "no longer 'real hip-hop'."

The brand new footage from "The Dark Knight Rises" which was unveiled during the 2012 MTV Movie Awards has made its way out onto the web. The clip was jam-packed with tons of new materials, including Catwoman's interview with John Blake, as well as Batman's intense fight with Bane.

The footage itself was presented by Christian Bale, Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt at the annual prize-giving event. Upon introducing the footage, Oldman said, "Mankind needs heroes. And sometimes the legend of a hero is more important than a hero himself."

Six years after they dropped their second album "The Pick of Destiny", Tenacious D are back with "Rize of the Fenix". The duo comprising of Jack Black and Kyle Gass released the effort in May and bowed at No. 4 on Billboard Hot 200.

A follow-up to 2006's gold sophomore set and 2001's platinum debut album "Tenacious D", the new effort became their highest chart entry. The group peaked at No. 33 with their self-titled album and climbed up to No. 8 with their second CD.

MTV to Turn 'Scream' Into a TV Series

The Ghostface may spread his terror on the small screen. It has been reported that MTV is developing a weekly series based on the "Scream" film franchise, which came from writer Kevin Williamson and director Wes Craven.

According to TVLine, former MTV executives Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley are on board to serve as executive producers under their DiGa production banner. They are currently looking for a writer to pen the project.

First Teaser for 'Spartacus' Season 3: Heroes Will Rise

"Spartacus" will not return until January 2013, but Starz has debuted the first teaser for the upcoming third season. Though it does not include any new scenes or plot details, the video does promise that the new chapter will have plenty of bloody action scenes.

At the end of the second season which is called "Spartacus: Vengenace", Liam McIntyre's Spartacus led his army to defeat Glaber. Next, the titular hero will have Marcus Crassus as his biggest enemy, with Simon Merrells being cast in the role.

The first trailer for "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" has finally been premiered at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. The promo video focuses on the strong friendship between Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller. Watson and Miller seem to be the only ones who would befriend Lerman, who portrays a nerd who is hard to find a companion on his first day at school.

"Perks of Being a Wallflower" is based on a 1999 novel by Stephen Chbosky, who also directs the movie. The story follows an introverted high school freshman named Charlie who slowly comes out of his shell thanks to his new friends, Sam and Patrick. He is introduced to the awkward times of adolescence, including drug use and sexuality.

'Family Feud' Host Richard Dawson Lost Battle Against Cancer

Richard Dawson, the original host of famous game show "Family Feud", has passed away at the age of 79. The British-born TV host died on Saturday night, June 2 at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles from complications due to esophageal cancer, said his son Gary Dawson.

"It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my father passed away this evening from complications due to esophageal cancer. He was surrounded by his family. He was an amazing talent, a loving husband, a great dad, and a doting grandfather. He will be missed but always remembered," he revealed.

Nicollette Sheridan's Lawyer Insists 'Desperate Housewives' Retrial Is Not Called Off

Nicollette Sheridan is going to move forward with her lawsuit against "Desperate Housewives" producer Touchstone Television despite the latest ruling that bumped the planned September 10 retrial indefinitely. After the California Court of Appeals ruled on Friday, June 1 that the key claim in the case likely should have been resolved in favor of Touchstone, the actress' lawyer is adamant that it doesn't mean the retrial is called off.

"The reference to amendment in the order is designed to ensure that happens and the September 10 trial date remains intact," said Mark Baute, who leads the legal team of the former "Desperate Housewives" star. He claims, "The order reflects the court of appeals' desire to have the September 10 trial focus on the Labor Code Section 6310 claim," before adding, "We will file our briefs and move forward accordingly."

Shawn Johnson Retires From Competitive Gymnastics Due to Knee Injury

20-year-old gymnast Shawn Johnson announced retirement. The 2009 winner of "Dancing with the Stars", who has three World gold medals and one gold and three silver Olympic medals, was forced to cut her efforts to make her second Olympic team short due to recurring knee problems. "I still have the heart, drive, and desire to compete and help the USA at the London Olympics," she said in a statement. "Unfortunately, it has become obvious that my left knee is not able to sustain the demands of gymnastics any longer. All I can do now is gracefully retire and thank everyone who has believed in me and my journey."
