Louis Vuitton Considers Lohan As Too American

Becoming an American for many people means pride and so does for Lindsay Lohan. Unfortunately, it doesn't always bring her good luck. The teen star apparently has been rejected as the face of Louis Vuitton because the fashion line considers her as "too American" for the brand's global image.

An insider tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror "Marc (Jacob) is great friends with Lindsay and she loves his clothes so it was no surprise rumors were flying that he was pushing his French bosses to get her to star in their campaign. But they thought Lindsay was too American for their global brand."

Child-Welfare Officials Visit Spears' Home

Pop singer Britney Spears back in spotlight, but in somewhat unpleasant one. The singer has on Saturday afternoon April 8th, 2006 got a visit from Los Angeles child-welfare officials accompanied by deputies.

Despite the "very standard, routine patrol request," the visit in fact occurred after Spears' son Sean Preston was diagnosed with minor skull fracture. That's according to Star magazine.

Dave Rowntree, the drummer for English rock group Blur, has another activity beyond music. Coincide with his band's unclear future plans, the man gives hand at designing animated comedy show.

Rowntree reportedly is working exclusively behind the scenes for the so-called "Empire Square", guiding the "creative process" and helping direct the voice talent who power the three main characters: the attitudinally maladjusted "Richie," the streetwise "Hooks" and the geek, "Rabbit."

Not only scores great in American Idol, she also scores double at the 2006 Country Music Television (CMT) awards show Monday April 10th, 2006. Brought home the Female Video of the Year award, the singer also nabbed the Breakthrough Video of the Year prize as well, both for "Jesus, Take the Wheel".

Meanwhile, fellow musician Keith Urban won Video of the Year award for "Better Life" and Brad Paisley's "When I Get Where I'm Going" was chosen as the Most Inspiring Video of the Year. Woman from the Block Suing Her Ex-Husband

The woman from the block, Jennifer Lopez, is suing her ex-husband Ojani Noa for demanding $5 million from her to keep him from publishing a book containing private details about the star and their relationship.

In her suit, filed Monday April 10th, 2006 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Lopez alleged that Noa violated a settlement agreement the pair reached in October by distributing the manuscript of his book to publishers. Thus she is seeking a restraining order to stop him from publishing the book.

John Sells Clothes to Raise Money for AIDS Charity

Elton John is doing good with his abundant secondhand clothes by selling it for charity. The star cleans his closet, selling thousands of pieces of his personal wardrobe to raise money for his AIDS charity, "The Elton John Aids Foundation".

Items on sale at "Elton's Closet", the temporary shop set up in the concourse of Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan, include 10,000 coats, sweaters, suits and other garments worn by John and partner David Furnish. The sale begins Tuesday through Saturday with all proceeds benefit The Elton John Aids Foundation.

A Designer Sued Melanie Griffith

Melanie Griffith is facing a $26,000 lawsuit filed by Emmy Award-winning designer Niklas J. Palm. In his lawsuit, filed on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Niklas claimed that Griffith refused to pay the $26,000 dress he designed for her and her daughters, Dakota Johnson and Stella Banderas, for the Golden Globes Awards.

Further, Niklas alleged that he has on Jan 16th submitted a $25,960 bill and Griffith was overdue in making any payments. Moreover, Griffith promised "that he will receive publicity that money could not buy, then conveniently forgot his name when reporters on the red carpet specifically asked who designed her beautiful gown - taking credit for the gown herself," the lawsuit said.

Jessica Simpson Has Been Sued for $100 Million

In December 2004 Jessica Simpson inked a deal with Tarrant Apparel Group to launch its line of low-priced jeans and clothing called "Princy", named after the nickname given to Simpson by her father-manager Joe. The agreement concerns the actress to be "actively involved" in promoting the garb, including wearing items from the line at "public events, shows and appearances" whenever "reasonably practicable."

Nevertheless, Simpson seems to rarely attend such events that make it possible for her to wear the affordable stuff, and thus lead the company to sue her for "simply failed to provide the promised support." What's more, in the complaint filed in New York State Supreme Court, Tarrant Apparel Group also alleged the star has at an event last year during which she was asked by the press to name her favorite brand of jeans, mentioned "True Religion" rather than "Princy."
