Blink-182

Blink-182 earns their first chart topper in the U.S. in over fifteen years with their album "California". The record debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and the Billboard Artist 100 chart as well as the Top Album Sales, Top Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts after it was released on July 1.

Blink-182 also becomes the third rock act to top the Artist 100 this year. The Lumineers previously leapt in at No. 1 on the April 30 chart while David Bowie posthumously debuted atop the January 30 chart following his death on January 10.

The last time the California trio was atop the Billboard 200 was when their album "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" debuted at No. 1 in 2001.

"California" is the band's first album with new guitarist Matt Skiba. Its lead single "Bored to Death" hit No. 1 on the Alternative Songs chart, becoming the group's first number one single since 2004.

In support of their seventh studio album, Blink-182 will launch a North America tour which will officially begin on July 22 in San Diego and conclude on October 1 in Los Angeles. They will be joined by The All-American Rejects, All Time Low, A Day to Remember, Simple Plan and The Used on selected dates. The rock band hopes to tour Europe in 2017.

BLINK-182 BIO

Blink-182, formerly known as simply Blink, is a Southern-Californian punk rock band that was formed in 1992 by Tom Delonge and Mark Hoppus. The group is notable for the lyrical content of their songs which is humorous and often uplifting. The history of Blink began in 1992 when Hoppus moved to San Diego, California, and was thinking of starting a band, and was fortunately introduced to Delonge. The two of them later decided that they needed to look for a drummer, and DeLonge discovered Scott Raynor at his school who played drums. Thus the three of them started considering a number of names, before they agreed to call themselves just "blink." So, they started a trio band, which later on consists of Thomas (Tom) Matthew DeLonge on guitar, Markus (Mark) Allan Hoppus on bass, and Travis Landon Barker on drums. » more
